Easy Strategies to Control Your Dreams

Are you looking for strategies to control your dreams? Then you’ve come to the right spot.

Learning how to control your dreams is very much possible – in fact, it’s called lucid dreaming and you may have already experienced it!
In order to experience it again, all you need to do is to be very patient with yourself and take a look at the few handy strategies we’ve picked out for you.
By occasionally taking over the control of your dreams, you’ll soon experience what plenty of people describe as a fantastic experience – and become a real mind master.
Read on to find out how you can become more present in your dreams.

Keep a dream journal!

The first technique to control dreams is to try and keep a dream journal.
Most of the time, we forget most of our dreams as soon as we wake up. By writing down your dreams, you’ll become more aware of what your dreams look and feel like.
There’s no need to do anything fancy here. Simply keep a pen and a notepad right next to your bed. Write down everything you can think of the same moment you wake up.
Go into as many details as possible. If you happen to wake up in the middle of the night, write down the dreams you had as well.

Try self-hypnosis

There are numerous benefits to hypnosis but did you know you can convince yourself to start lucid dreaming?
Self-hypnosis won’t take hours out of your day and is often as simple as sitting down to meditate. Don’t worry, there’s nothing to be afraid about – and no, you won’t become a walking zombie!
In fact, if you want to try out self-hypnosis yourself, all you need to do is sit down in a quiet room, all by yourself. Get comfortable, you’ll be sitting like this for a while!
Then, pick an affirmation you’ll repeat and try to relax as much as possible. As soon as you start going into a deeper state of relaxation, start repeating your affirmation.
In this case, your affirmation can be something like:I can control my dreams or I am able to have lucid dreams.

Do reality checks

While you’re dreaming, you’re not aware that you’re in a dream. The major point of this strategy is to raise that awareness.
Find a task that you are able to do in a reality but unable to perform in your dream. Once you do, train your mind to remember it.
Tasks like this can include turning a light switch on/off in reality or checking up the time.
Next time you’re in a dream, try looking at the clock or turning the light switch on/off. Often times, you’ll notice you’re not able to do that, thus indicating to yourself that you’re dreaming.

In the end, don’t forget to be patient!
Lucid dreaming may take you a few tries to get it right but once you do, you’ll probably enjoy it!
