Psychological Empowerment – How to Drop the Victim Mindset

Are you tired of having little to no control over your life?

The psychological empowerment is all about learning how to take back the control into your hands. By deciding to be in charge of your own life, you won’t only develop emotional intelligence but you’ll also be happier, more at peace with yourself and the choices you make. Read on to find out how to drop the victim mindset with these emotional intelligence tips.

1. Stop blaming others
Blaming others might seem like a good temporary solution since it gives you an instant relief. However, in the long run, pointing fingers at others will make you feel miserable and completely powerless. While it’s true that you can’t always be in control of everything that happens to you can always control the way you react to it. Get to know yourself better. Work on your emotional intelligence. And don’t take everything to the heart – the world has nothing against you!

2. Think of yourself as a survivor
The way you talk to yourself can make you feel either like a survivor or a victim.
Choose the survivor mindset over the victim mindset. Shift your mindset so you’re inspired by current events, not disappointed!
For example, don’t keep telling yourself that bad things keep happening to you. Instead, think of everything you can learn from the experience you deem negative at the moment.

3. Learn to love & respect yourself
Often times, people get stuck in the victim mindset because they’re too harsh towards themselves. To get unstuck, you need to build a more positive image of you inside your mind. Be more compassionate towards yourself – even when things don’t go according to plan. It’s okay if life doesn’t always go the way you’ve imagined it to go. Base your self-confidence on other stuff as well – and not only on your failures.
In the end, remember: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

Do you feel like you’re stuck in the victim mindset? How did you get unstuck?
