Do you have a tendency to procrastinate?
You’re not alone – everyone has procrastinated at some point. However, the real problem happens when you get into the habit of procrastinating all the time and that’s affecting your ability to get things done.
If you’re tired of this type of unintentional self-sabotage, then brain hacking can come to your rescue here to help you become a real mind master.
Read on to learn a few simple things you can do to maximize productivity and improve concentration skills without wasting any more time of your day!
First – understand why you’re doing it!
Do yourself a favor and look closely: what’s the reason behind your procrastination?
People don’t procrastinate because they’re lazy. Actually, you may even choose to do something else for hours but refuse to do what you’re supposed to get done.
The most common reasons why people procrastinate are the fear of failure, not knowing how to do the task they need to do or feeling overwhelmed.
Here’s what you can do to beat procrastination
- Have a routine in place
Don’t snooze the alarm & don’t check social media. Instead, meditate, journal, and get ready to be productive.
- Minimize distractions
Distractions are one of the biggest threats to your productivity. Minimize them.
Turn off your push notifications, don’t check emails more than twice per day and wear noise-canceling headphones to stay focused for longer periods of time.
- Practice mindfulness to extend focus
It’s okay if you don’t want to meditate every day. There are plenty of exercises you can do to practice mindfulness without actually meditating.
Exercises like that ground you to the present moment and allow you to shift your focus on things that need to be done.
- The 2-minute rule
The 2-minute rule is your best friend when it comes to beating procrastination. It’s simple and yet very effective. It goes like this:
If you can do something in two minutes or less, do it right away.
You’ll be amazed as to just how much you’ll get done by following it!
